HOUSE ASSEMBLY...

CLASSES 5 AND 6

THEME - TOURISM IN INDIA

The United Nations has designated 2017 as the International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development.

Under this theme all the five houses at DL DAV PITAMPURA , middle wing presented a colourful and musical assembly on the 3rd May 2017.. showcasing the “TOURISM IN INDIA”.

The students presented the assembly with the aim of showing diversed cultures of INDIA ...with the theme "United we stand".

FREEDOM HOUSE -Kashmir...... India’s one of the most picturesque state lies on the peaks of Himalayan Ranges.... Kashmir’s offers delightful holidays on the lakes with their shikaras and houseboats ....Kashmir tourism has come a long way, to love and look after its tourists, fulfilling their every whim. Tourists are everywhere, soaking up all that Kashmir has to offer – the walks, the pony treks, the shikara rides at sunset on the Dal lake…

In the seventeenth century, the Mughal emperor Jahangir said that if paradise is anywhere on the earth, it is here (the Kashmir Valley), while living in a houseboat on Dal Lake.... "Gar firdaus, ruhe zamin ast, hamin asto, hamin asto, hamin ast", which translates to "if there is ever a heaven on earth, its here".

The students of Freedom house in beautiful Kashmiri costumes and attractive silver jewellery took the audience to the journey of the HEAVEN ON EARTH , KASHMIR..while spreading a beautiful message of peace and prevalence..the presentation included Kashmiri folk songs , dances etc.. 


DIGNITY HOUSE -PUNJAB..... the land of five rivers. Punjab is the land of food, colour, and happiness. Being one of the most significant places in India historically, this state is filled with wonderful architecture and places of worship.

If Punjab were to be personified, it would most definitely be the tough guy who walks around carrying his battle scars with his head held high....the students of Dignity house showcased the tourism and rich culture of this historical state with full enthusiasm and patriotic fervor..the presentation included the folk Punjabi songs ...dances ..

the highlight of the show was the 'GIDDA AND BHANGRA' by the students in colourful costumes....


 MODESTY HOUSE - RAJASTHAN.....is one of the most popular tourist destinations in India, for both domestic and international tourists. Rajasthan attracts tourists for its historical forts, palaces, art and culture. Every third foreign tourist visiting India also travels to Rajasthan as it is part of the Golden Triangle for tourists visiting India.

Endowed with natural beauty and a great history, Rajasthan has a flourishing tourism industry. The palaces of Jaipur, lakes of Udaipur, and desert forts of Jodhpur, Bikaner & Jaisalmer are among the most preferred destinations of many tourists, Indian and foreign.

The students highlighted the significance The capital of the state, Jaipur... Also known by the nickname ‘Pink City of India’ which is due to the distinctive saffron or pink color of the buildings....Jaipur has lots to offer to even the most average tourists. Forts, monuments, temples, Gardens, museums and vast market places of Jaipur bring tourists who come from all around the world to experience the food, fun and frolic at this wonderful town. ...the presentation included folk dance and songs , the festivasl ..the showcase of bandhani costumes and culture of Rajasthan..

COURAGE HOUSE - GUJARAT..

Gujarat is one of the most diverse States in India.  Gujarat's endless journey from Roots to Wings is timeless with historical and cultural traditions glorifying the State.

Gujarat, the Land of the Legends, is the birthplace of many Freedom fighters like the legendary Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and many others who fought the freedom struggle, infusing the qualities of tolerance, brotherhood, non-violence and patriotism into Indians....The students in colourful costumes and kites brought live on the stage the  ..Rann Utsav... a celebration of life, festivities and culture of Kutch. It is a landmark bestowing grace and elegance where the world gathers for more than 2 months.   Rann Utsav offers visitors an excellent opportunity to experience the diverse traditions and the generosity and hospitality of Kutchi people.
The picturesque “White Desert” on a full moon night during Rann Utsav, the region wakes to an endless cycle of dance, and where century old traditions are revived in a celebration.
The colorful fairs held near the beach or the banks of a lake swings one with the spirit of festivity, fervor and flamboyancy.. experience the zeal and uniqueness of the people through a celebration of life!

ENTERPRISE HOUSE - MADHYA PRADESH..

Madhya Pradesh is called the Heart of India because of its location in the centre of the country. It has been home to the cultural heritage of Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism etc. Innumerable monuments, but exquisitely carved temples, stupas, forts & palaces are dotted all over the state. Madhya Pradesh was awarded the Best Tourism State Award in 2012...
The natural beauty of Madhya Pradesh is equally varied. Consisting largely of a plateau streaked with the hill ranges of the
Vindhyas and the Satpuras, the State has everything.  Spectacular mountain ranges, meandering rivers dotted with hills and lakes and miles and miles of dense forests offering a unique and exciting panorama of wildlife in sylvan surroundings............In the National Parks of Kanha, Bandhavgarh, Shivpuri and many others one has the rare opportunity to see the tiger, the bison and a wide variety of deer and antelope in sylvan surroundings..t
the students of Enterprise house took the audience to the journey of wildlife safaris , the folkfore of MP ...the most enjoyable was the kathputli dance showcasing geographical , economic and cultural aspects of MP......

The assembly was enjoyed by all the students of classes 5 and 6.

As a closure, Principal Ma’am spoke to the students..and inspired them to stay united...maam also gave a message that the merging of cultures is always helpful in removi g the barriers and making our nation a unified whole.
